Don't pretend that this is the worst tragedy that will ever happen to them. It is a softball game. There are perhaps 10 people in the world who care, and 9 of those don't even know how many innings were played.

If I noticed something that needed to be fixed, I would do it during the game...immediately. If it couldn't be fixed during the game, I would make a mental note and work on it at the next practice.
