Over and over until it gets fixed!
Its not the umpires job to fix.
Its the umpires job to make a point it's wrong.
If thats atleast once every game than its atleast once.

? at what point should the umpire's apply the rule?

Anyone care to comment on
*changing the rules for 10U
~and under and allowing it until 12u?
Then it would need to be corrected by 12u where in 12u no crow hopping leaping would apply.
Take away the learning curve issue?
Or
Take away the issue of umpires enforcing the rule.
are you telling me that every umpire adheres to the strike zone as described in the rules? Ha!! You know better!

y'all act like calling it in a game is going to give a 10 year old extra incentive to fix the issue. Listen, a 10 year old will fix the issue if her coach and parent tells her to fix the issue. Additional input from umpires calling her for leaping 50 times during a game is not going to accelerate the process. anyone who thinks so is wrong IMO.

Maybe parents and coaches should teach DD the proper way to pitch before putting DD in the game. If a coach/parent knows it is a problem then they should address that before game time and not expect the rules to be ignored because DD was not properly instructed when starting out.

Just because the ump does not call it, does not make it right.
If DD wants to hit with an illegal bat (creating a potential advantage) and the coach/parent allows it (because the ump may not see/call it). Is it OK to ignore the rule?

How about this? This girl pitched like this for a whole tournament and never called for it. She has probably been doing it for a couple years. This isn't just a little leap off the rubber. What is going to happen when she finally meets an ump who has read the rule book and knows "The hand shall be below the hip and the wrist not farther from the body than the elbow" (USSSA). She is going to have to completely relearn how to pitch.

There are rules and they need to be enforce whether it's 6U rec or NCAA. It's ultimately for the players benefit.

Not trying to bash umps, but if they don't call it, they are accessories.

It sucks to watch your DD go thru getting penalized, but it's better to know and fix it now than later.

I would love to see a full video of this young lady. Dennis Eckersley’s daughter?

according to the pitching forum folks, this pitcher has zero chance of being any good since they say you can't throw strikes consistently without brush interference so this once will work itself out after she washes out because of ineffectiveness.
