Went from a 29/16 to a 31/19 this fall and now DD is striking out more often

You added 2" in length and 4 oz? That's a HUGE difference. I'm not surprised she's struggling. Not surprised at all.

Yeah rookie mistake on my part. I didn't take into account the weight PLUS the length.. but even at just 4 ounces, I think I overcompensated lol..

Exactly what I meant, According to the bat weight database on this forum, that Xeno is overweight at almost 22 oz.

Xeno 31/20 (2015)..................AW 21.8 - 21.9 oz

So, really a 6 oz. difference, iF your old bat was at the correct weight.

She's 4'6 and around 60lbs. So maybe this is just too big for her to handle as I thought. There is another player on her team who uses the same size bat as her but she's about 90lbs..
What age group? Has to be 10U right?

My DD used a 31" -10 up into 8th grade(12u/14u) and she was tall and lanky....still is. If I remember we bought her the Demarini CF5 Insane 31" in 7th grade and she was probably 5'5" or so at that time. She finished growing at 5'10" and swings a 34 -10 sometimes -9. Your DD at 4'6" should be swinging a 29" maybe 30".

DD's former TB coach always said, I want you swinging the biggest bat that you can swing efficiently. If we are moving up to a bigger bat, I only want to go 1 inch and 1 or 2oz at a time.

Yes 10u.
I just got her a 30/19 lxt. Did a little BP front toss and she was really doing well with it. I think the other bat being a xeno made it a bit heavier at the end. The lxt feels very balanced. DD says it feels like she's swinging a much lighter bat.
