Ok, I'm finally pulling the trigger. I'm going to start doing video lessons, or as much as I can do online. Obviously there are limitations to what I'm going to be able to see and do. In all my lessons, at some point during the session, I grab my glove and catch so I can see the ball rotation. For me, I see everything when I catch and it's easier to provide instruction based off the ball rotation. From the rotation, I usually know exactly where to focus my instructions.
My goal is to get videos from a few angles, preferably a couple from back, pitching arm side and if possible behind the catcher. using a striped ball will help me see it. And while I won't be able to demonstrate the pitches for the pitcher via online lessons, I will give my instruction in video messages back to her so I can move my arms and show things. I think that will be better than typing out long winded replies.
The videos can be pitch specific (anything but a screwball!!!!) or general mechanics. You can email me bill@houseofpitching.com for additional details.
