I tried using a yardstick a couple of winters back for working on swing mechanics in front of a mirror (hey I was in my bedroom and it was handy :) ). I found it helped in keeping the palm up/palm down position at (imaginary) contact and I could really feel the yardstick cutting through the air.

Has anyone else tried this? If not give it a try (watch the lamps though :D) and let me know what you think of it as a training aid.

It is important to have fast trunk or core rotation during bat swings so using a light material like a yard stick will help focus on the core movement while still mimicking the movement of a regular bat swing.
