USA vs USSSA

We are going to play in our first USA softball tournament this weekend. We normally play in USSSA. Are there any differences in the rules? I'm more interested in the pitching rules but will take anything I can get. Thanks.

I believe you can only start back in USA. You can step back in usssa

USA has had a tougher time staffing umps for us. Lots of one-ump games.

this is a good list of the differences of the rules

The one that I always remember is on a bunt, USSSA you have the pull the bat back on a take or it’s a strike, In USA you do not have to move bat back. If it’s a ball, it’s a ball

as for pitching, this is a 2018 list, do pitching rules changed

Red versus Blue printing and threads on the softballs is one difference.

and blue versus gold 2018 Ghosts are notable bat exceptions between the 2 rule sets.

And one of them you have to attempt to move from pitches while batting and one you don't.

Ask about the runner substitution rule, last available or open, before the game. While the rules may be different between sanctioning bodies, the umps need to know the differences most of all. I've lost count, in USSSA games, how many sub runners we've had called out because the previous game was one way and the current game is another. Might be a local USSSA issue, but we ask at every coin toss now and I turn and announce it to our dugout.
