With the money you save, you should grab the 2nd magnolia catcher mitt for yourself so you can play catch with your dd team picther for warm-up. the AS CMW3000/3001 takes a pretty good bit to break in, but DD has been pretty consistent at not allowing anything that gets in the mitt to get out. breaking in over winter catching pitching lessons is way to go. used lexol outisde and obenaufs inside. starting same for #2, nothing wrong with #1, but want next one broken in and ready to go when #1 needs relacing.I've seen a number of 12u catchers with All Star mitts struggle with balls popping out. My theory is the All Star has a shallow pocket, and is better suited for more advanced/stronger players.
The padding on the Marucci is excellent.
Heck yeah, my man, welcome aboard Ray!!In true equipment addict form I just said screw it and ordered both. I can use the one she doesn't like for a bucket mitt for my pitchers. God I love equipment!!!!
I ordered the new black and white AF EliteHaha, gotta love it! Which All Star Mitt did you go with...the Vela pro or the AF Elite (CMW3000)?
Welcome to the journey......hang on, it can be a bumpy road!DD has decided she wants to try to pitch. I always wanted to catch but never did because I'm a lefty. I just saw the old version of the CMW3000 is on sale on the All Star site for $99....only in lefty. Uh oh.
