Can anyone confirm for me that the only difference between the 2011 and 2012 version of the Xeno is the colors used? I've looked at the specs and they seem to be made the same. I can get a brand new 2011 for less than $200.

Thanks.

DD did not want a new bat, just went ahead and bought her one before the fall season.

1st she knew she had a new bat was when we arrived to practice ½ an hour early to hit for a little while. She insisted we stay after practice to hit some more. :)

With the prices right now you should be able to get most your money back if she really does not like it.

That is a great website, thank you.

I am thinking about getting a Xeno for my DD. She is currently using a Easton Synergy SRV4B but that was just deleted from the NCAA Approved Bat list with three strikes against it so she won't be able to use it in HS. I am pretty confident she could use it through summer ball but now USSSA has a new mark and that has to be displayed by 2013. It was a pretty hot bat but I am hearing the Xeno is going to be the bat to have this year. If they are the same bat I may pick up one of the 2011 models for probably half the price.

I am happy dd is not a spoiled brat, but "I don't need another bat, my rt is fine" doesn't cut it with an obsessive dad. I said "Honey, you have to have more than one bat in the bag." "Well I have my miken." "Honey, that is too light, I have already ordered a xeno off ebay, don't tell mom until I sell your miken!"

Actually got the winning bid on a 2011 for $150.

Great, once she swings it she will love it. :)

DW did not learn about the new bat until the 1st game, "Who's bat is she using?"

Came today! Wife just text me. "Did you order a new bat? I told UPS man that it couldn't possibly be ours and sent it back"

The 2011 bat rocks, my DD loves her 30/20. I'm thinking of buying her a bigger one for down the road before they disappear!

Love the Xenos. One issue I've noticed though is that they tend to get small fractures/cracks around the endcap. This can be avoided if the kid takes care of the bat a little more than they are used to. It's generally being dropped headfirst on cement (like into those stupid tubes many dugouts have to hold bats) that destroy bats in this manner. Tossing them around in a game situation is okay.

The XENO's seem more susceptible to this then CF4s, and I've seen a few XENO's go dead because of it. As for rule changes, IMO if you get a year out of a composite bat, you're doing good. Bats wear out, kids grow, get stronger, ect. Don't buy a bat for an investment.
