It’s not equal number of sports it’s equal representation. Many schools actually sponsor more women’s sports than men’s because it takes several women’s sports to make up for the 70-80 or so football players they have on roster.

Yep was just about to say the same thing. I know there are a lot of sports at colleges where they will have a school funded women’s team but only a men’s club team in the same sport.

At least they have a team. If you look at the top 20 revenue women's BB teams you might be surprised at who's in there and some of the rankings. Hint, Uconn is not No 1. If schools decide to promote women's sports they can generate revenue. SB is poised to generate money at a lot of schools but too many don't even bother charging anything to get in.
