In her high school game, DD was called for an illegal pitch for stepping out of the pitching lane. Blue said that her plant foot wasn't a problem but her drag foot was kicking off to the side too much when she brings her knees together at the end of the pitch.

So two questions: 1. Is the rule about her plant foot, or both feet? And 2. How much of the foot needs to be outside the pitching lane for it to be a violation?

6-1-2c. The Pitcher's step must be forward and partially within the 24" length of the pitcher's play. A pitcher's lane is not drawn.

So, 1, just concerned about the step foot, and 2, in HS, it must be completely outside the 24 inches to be a violation.
