Looks like Virginia Tech is on hold right now due to a positive test result. They are not sure when they will resume. 😔

January 27, 2021 - NESCAC Presidents' Update on Spring Sports

As the New England Small College Athletic Conference and its member institutions prepare for the spring semester, the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and communities remain our foremost concerns. Although COVID case numbers have started to decline, nationally and in our region, the numbers remain far higher than they were at the start of the fall semester. After a careful review, the NESCAC presidents have agreed that conditions will need to improve significantly in order to conduct conference competition this spring.

Can't imagine what could have been if everyone had just gutted it up when they had the chance, took one for the team and wore their masks for a few short months. Oh well, we'll never know.

Yeah, saw this when it came out. They have been allowed to practice. Hoping for a positive update soon.

Some of the schools in the conference have just had kids return to campus this week.

Cases in MA are significantly less now than they were when that was written. We’re waiting on a final call from DDs conference but they are a month in to preseason practice so hoping for good news. Winter sports in her conference just got the ok for games this week, super short season but at least those kids are getting something

We did. California was the first to shut down and they are still closed.
Florida never shut down and they are still open.
I'm no doctor but somethings wrong when a state on full lock down has more deaths as a percentage of population than a state wide open the whole time. Makes ya wonder.
