Hi Rad,

Such a terrible time of day ... and a facing West - Southwest too. 😆

Since you can't control those externalities, plus there's not much she could really adjust to her catching positioning in those conditions.

You could try to find her a GOOD pair of sunnies, and if her facemask has an opening above the eyes (at the forehead) ... you can try a mask sunshade or use athletic tape to close up that space to minimize the sun's access.

It's not a bad idea to try her best to utilize the glove for sun cover. As you're aware, fun things usually never happen to an exposed throwing hand and fingers that won't bend back easily. 😭

This was early a.m. in so cal.
Outside pitches were directly in the middle of a beautiful clear morning sun.

Sunglasses
Attached shade
Great equitpment suggestions.

She did what she did out of necessity, and on her own!

Exposed throwing hand was an unfortunet result...or consequence. Didnt get hit.
Was able to see!

Everyone will have to make there best judgement call in a tough situation!

You're right RAD.

Otherwise, a nice summer day in SoCal. Long sleeves & jackets ... I know, I know, a cold 65 degrees. 🥶:D

Do you know if that's Jason Iuli coaching 3rd for the Stars?

Dud the umpire miss "m"any calls due to the "conditions"? :)
He was a very active umpire.
Moved into position to make calls.
I sat to the side mostly, so cant really speak of all pitch calling.
However from behind the plate, yes for an inning or so there was a blind spot which may have been correctly called with a best guess. 💁

Extraordinarily found out after the game the catcher was not given a signal chart.
(first time playing with that team)
Did not know what pitches were comming!
Plus the pitcher had an outstanding spinning change up that would head to the dirt.

Catcher was really put to a test and handled her responsibility like a champ!

Great job 'C' !!!! 👍🎉
