What was weird about my post? I was implying that if you are answering somebody hit reply and then I answered your question about who I would choose

Didn’t go to watch any games so no porta potty..watched the livestream from the comfort of my air BnB…

On my phone it looked like there was several posts sitting on top of each other it just looked weird. What you wrote was not weird.

I understand how to use the reply button was just adding chatter without distinction to whom.

If you keep the speed the same and increase the spin rate the pitch is going to be more effective, that makes sense. Then there is this; Bauer Units

BAUER UNITS​

Bauer Units are an easier way of determining how useful the spin numbers are compared to the velocity. We can calculate this metric by taking average spin rate and dividing it by average velocity. Bauer Units are useful because we can have a case of two pitchers with the same spin numbers, ex. 2200 RPM, but one pitcher throws 90 MPH and the other throws 83 MPH. The pitcher throwing 90 MPH with 2200 spin is not as impressive as the pitcher throwing 83 MPH with the same spin. Typically, we would tell the harder throwing pitcher to throw up in the zone purely off his velocity and his high spin, but because his Bauer Units would equate to around 24 that would be only 1 unit off of average (23), therefore he would want to hammer the bottom of the zone. On the other side, the pitcher throwing 83 MPH has a Bauer Unit measurement of 26 which is incredibly impressive. This would allow him to throw up in the zone even though his velocity is not blow away type numbers because he produces above average spin with that slated velocity.

I'm not a big speed fan, but don't get me wrong I understand speed allows you to get away with not being perfect with hitting spots. However, it also allows for a batter to hit tanks when you miss those spots and they've timed you correctly....

That being said location is key, followed very closely by proper spin and lastly speed. If you don't believe that just ask the pitchers that came back from Colorado this year. The pitchers that located but didn't have much speed fared pretty well and the pitchers that threw gas but lacked location had rough outings. I was up there at the IDT with my team, but I caught a few games of my students. The girls that I have, with exceptional control did as I expected whereas my hard throwers struggled a bit with control.

I stress a lot on control and spin as well as how to throw a firmly but given the choice most girls choose to work on velocity. Mom and Dad sometimes push velocity more so then control and spin I see this first hand all the time. The good news is typically all it takes is a trip to Colorado for them to change their priority's when it comes to pitching LOL....

In baseball (sorry @RADcatcher ) somewhere around 15% I want to say? So not negligible but if the pitch speed is increased by 10 mph that is only 1.5 mph which is about 7-10 extra ft with everything else being the same.

I'm sure your calculations are correct with a wooden bat and a baseball. However I played baseball for a wooden bat league for MANY years before I started playing men's fast-pitch. The harder pitching, to be honest really only hurt the hands and broke more bats but the ball never really went much farther.

When I started playing mens fastpitch about 20 years ago (I still play) the biggest difference I felt was how fast the ball came off the composite bat. The slower the pitcher the less likely the ball was gonna leave the field, the faster the pitcher the more dingers and stingers we hit..... Like I said I'm sure your numbers are right but coming from someone who actually plays, I'm not sure I agree, respectfully of course.
