Kansas starts up this weekend, Colorado must be shut down because the first utrip tourney in Hays ever is %75 colorado teams in our division.
Looks like 6/20 for CT.
Fastpitch Nation has been very public with their reopening, and has tournaments scheduled from that date on (I find it kind of amusing that the very first tournament is the "New England State Championships", but whatever).
Some teams are practicing split squad (4 girls and a coach at a time), some are still trying to determine if their players (parents) want to play, and if they have a full team. Some teams have folded because of this. Coaches are talking to each other trying to figure it all out.
Umps are being told to set up their blocks.
My DD's team seems to have enough parents/girls who want to return, so we'll have a team, but hasn't yet started to practice (thinking next week they'll start split squads, they got the go-ahead from our town to do so).
It all seems a bit disorganized and no one has the full story, picture, rules, liability issues quite down. But 6/20 is the target...
We've only played only USSSA. They had a waiver you signed online. They also have return to play guidelines posted."Disorganized".....That's what I would think for all these states and tournaments starting all over. Do they all really have a "social distancing" and safety plan in place? And teams are crossing state to state? Wow....talk about a human science/social experiment. Yikes! Hope all goes well....we shall see.
Has USA or USSSA or PGF etc come out with their "official" safety policies for their sanctioned tournaments?
For those playing...did you have to sign a gazillion liability waivers?
Good luck...stay safe!

DD1 (different sport) club/travel team is starting cardio socially distanced workouts this weekend, NJ goverener says youth sports can start practice June 22, so DD2s SB team should start practicing soonIn NJ, Gov eased some restrictions. Our team found a public park field that allows us to practice conditioned upon appropriate protocols. Waiting to hear from tournament directors to see how our summer schedule fills out.
Ask and you shall receive. USSSA issued their post Covid-19 guidelines a few weeks ago: USSSA Covid19-Return to Play guidelines
Triple Crown just sent this email:
LIVE PRESENTATION in 30 MINUTES!
Triple Crown founder Dave King is giving a live virtual presentation with video footage of how to run baseball/softball games and events in a safe manner.
We teamed up with the State of Colorado and Larimer County health officials and ran a mock event on our private facility yesterday (Thursday) with strict protocols in place.
In doing so, we were able to craft a Return to Play plan and video that organizations, coaches, municipalities, etc., can share with government officials in states like Colorado and California where there is still no direction on getting kids back on the ballfields.
Please join us for the presentation and then do your part to get this information out. It's time to get back to playing ball!
Just curious.. why not?"Masks for all including players" Yeah, not gonna play if that is a requirement.
Is that only for Colorado, or all Triple Crown tournaments?
