Dual hinge mitts better mimics the hand than a single hinge mitt. One hinge mimics the fold between the thumb and palm, and the other hinge mimics the fold between the pinky-ring finger and palm. A dual hinge catchers mitt tends to have a deeper pocket because it pulls the thumb forward a bit which is better suited for softball. Also, a dual hinge mitt opens flatter when blocking. I'm fairly sure the majority of fastpitch catchers mitts are dual hinge. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each type of catcher's mitt? DD currently using a dual hinge A1000, but it seems the majority of catchers I see are using single hinge models.
Yes, it is.My daughter uses a Vinci fast pitch catchers mitt. Is that considered a dual hinge mitt?
Uh, what's this about?I have been looking for mine for weeks now...we moved the TV to another room and the DVDs all got moved as well, and the NECC DVD disappeared. This is the time of year I'd really like to have it for our catchers, too.
