For those that have 9 year old girls playing in travel ball... I am looking for some good recommendations for a brand of glove and size for a nine year old girl.
Thanks in advance and GO...!!

9? Go with what is comfortable to her, one that she thinks looks good, and that an 11" ball will fit into. When you hit 12u, start dialing in size. 14u, get her a custom.

What's your budget? Is she small/average/large for her age?

At 9yo, my DD was using a 12" Mizuno MVP-series. It lasted about a year.

Mine did not do travel but played a lot of rec. I had to pry her mizuno prospect from her hands.
I'd say the MVP would offer a little more quality and still feel broken in day one. If you get her a stiff
glove she'll hate it.

My oldest DD started out with a Wilson A500 at that age. 11.75 or 12 inch but looking back a 11.5 would have been great. Youngest daughter has a Wilson A500 12 inch and loves it. Fixing to move up and I'm trying to get her to get a new one. Oldest, now 13 has had a Wilson A2000 12.5 for about 2 years and absolutely loves it. Plays OF, 1st, and some at pitcher. For smaller hands, you can't beat the A2000. Although at 9u, I would get something that fits and breaks in very easily.

Call me nuts but I like kids to use a quality glove from the beginning. My 9u daughter has had a Wilson A2k 11.75 since she was 8 years old. The A2k is going on 2 years old and I have doubt that she will use the glove for another 2 years of softball. She will get 4 years of softball out of her A2k and I should have no problem selling that glove and getting $100 for it when she is done with it.
