Seasons and Tourneys Cancelled?

easy solution, since offense is not supposed to touch ball, is to have two balls for each team, switch out every half inning, have blue where a glove. keeps exposure to half. and maybe a good rub down with hand sanitizer (ie a soacking) pregame
And if the starting pitcher is infected but asymptomatic?

Our HC cancelled my DD's (13U) practice for this weekend. He said he's taking it week to week. First tourney isn't until April 17th, so hopefully there won't be any issues.

We just got the word that DDs High School will be closed starting next week. Not sure how long at this point but another district in our county announced 3 weeks and then reevaluate.

16 team tourney, approximately 192 players and another 400 or so spectators/tourney staff. A couple players infected but asymptomatic, maybe a worker in the snack bar . . . Not a good scenario.

We are quite a ways from peak infection, but if tourneys happen in April, it'll just drag things out.

The goal with how we are dealing with it is to drag things out. The better that cancelling everything works, actually means it will be longer before we get back to whatever normal is. Don't get me wrong, I agree with the "plan", but it's also why I'm starting to resign myself to the fact that high school is done, and maybe TB happens for the summer portion.

Close all schools nationwide for three weeks, then re-evaluate. All spring sports, summer tourneys, rec leagues cancelled nationwide.

Easy to write, tough to do, though.
