Bottom of the 7th inning. Home team is trailing 2 runs to 1. Bases loaded.

Batter hits one over the fence. Game ends 5to 2, correct?

What if the batter hits an inside the park homerun or a triple. Is the game over as soon as the third (winning) run scores?
Or do all the runs count until the play is dead.

Over the fence 5-2
Inside the park 3-2 (batter likely credited with a double)'
Subject to the clarification of Gags above re Ventura's walkoff grand single?!?!?

^I remember that game well, was kind of crazy. Your team hits a GS you get 4 runs so 4-2 is final right? It's not like I have a degree in math or anything. Oh wait that's right I do.

Runner still has to touch all the bases on an OTF HR (per OBR, at least).

Gags
Mets fan who will forever be bitter at Robin Ventura's teammates for mobbing him at 2B instead of HP.

Pretty sure that only the runner at third base came home to touch the plate when Ventura hit it out. The other two runners just joined in the mob. So even if Ventura tried to advance all the way around, he would've been out for passing a runner.

1. OMG - was that really 20 years ago...
2. If it took until the 5th post to realize that 1+4 = 5, does that answer the 15+ page "do stats matter" thread?

I kept looking at the clicker in my hand ... then I realized it doesn’t have dials for the score AND yet I still knew that wasn’t right. ;)
