In D1 schools about how many kids get a full ride as opposed to part scholarships.
This is what my DD's catching coach said from her experience. Frsh-50%, soph 50%, Jr 75%, Sr 100%. She also set the all time HR record for the school. It's rare that a player get's a full 100% scholly. Some amazing pitchers can command that much but with only 12 scholly's for a full roster that is very difficult. It's much easier to give 24 50% scholly's. You do the math. Those amazing academic kids that get a bunch of merit money can help though. Doesn't really matter where the money comes from as long as you are contributing. In D1 schools about how many kids get a full ride as opposed to part scholarships.

I was talking to a D3 coach recently and he was saying that he takes on players even though he doesn't think they will see the field. They are great for the dugout and he needs the players "just in case".
It depends on the team more players the more expense it takes to run the team. Example DD on DIII soft team that traveled to fla last spring. Flying, hotel & eating cost a team that has 'are great for the dugout and he needs the players "just in case"'.I was talking to a D3 coach recently and he was saying that he takes on players even though he doesn't think they will see the field. . Team could only dress 20 players. So, on DD's team 2 girls could not be in uniform.
