Riseball trajectories

A good riseball will actually jump at some point. Getting the jump at the best point is the key. A "rise" thrown with too much upward angle is simply an angle pitch and not a true rise.

Riseballs do NOT "jump". Your mind may perceive the ball as "jumping" but the ball itself does not.

A good riseball looks like it jumps, but it doesn't.
Yes a good rise ball "tricks the eyes" because the ball drops less than our mind expects it to drop.
But as has been pointed out no human has yet been able to generate a spin rate that will produce a magnus effect cappable of overcoming the pull of gravity and allowing the ball to travel in an upward parabolic arc from its original trajectory.
I believe you covered it in post #3 of this thread.
