I've never heard of such a rule in any state.

Can you give me a specific example of one state where there is a rule against a HS coach coaching a summer softball team?

Texas has this rule. Coaches may not coach any players who are currently rostered on their team, or are 1 year from possibly being rostered. The possibly means they will be attending the school in the fall. It does not mean they will come out for the softball team, which makes it worse.

Is it a conflict of interest if the high school coach has given lessons to some of the players on the team? Also, what if the HS coach has been hired by two of the player's parents to a job for them..A job that puts a nice amount of money into the high school coach's pocket. Is that a conflict of interest?
