DD2s team will be playing an indoor tournament over holiday break at end of year. Wondering what the thoughts were on shoes, ie cleats or sneakers? Facility allows plastic molded cleats (which is what she has), so she has a choice.
My DD has played several indoor tournaments and has always chosen tennis shoes....something like running shoes. Turf is a kind word, it's more like indoor/outdoor carpet but not really enough of a nap to wear cleats. Always had plenty of traction.

this turf is actually kind of different. not a carpet, but strips/blades of plastic, fairly long, and mixed in with it is tiny rubber (ie ground up tires), very small, like mm or less. I see lots of players in multiple sports at this facility wear cleats (flag football, soccer, field hockey). interesting note, this fall they played on hybrid fields for one tournament, dirt infield, turf outfields, border between them had tan/beige turf and it seemed to do down under the ddirt of the infield, ie not a hard border, more of a blend. everyone wore cleats, as at least I had no idea beforehand, and even the outfielders would want cleats for hitting and baserunning. thought it was pretty cool (actually hot thought)
I will let her wear whatever makes her more comfortable. just worried that sneakers if she really does to push off (ie rising up to throw, etc.), feet may not get traction she likes.
