sluggers: great information. As you said - pitchers need to be able to hit the strike zone in different areas, but they also need to be able to throw off the plate as well. I knew a pitcher who was just not comfortable throwing off the plate at all. Batters eventually figured out that everything she threw would be in the zone. Not a good thing.
