I am a pitcher myself, and i tend to get pain on my fingertips usually after every game.. Usually it is my middle and pointer finger, and i was wondering if anyone knew what this is from and what i can do, any tips and suggestions is welcome, thanks.

This is from the pads of your fingers pressing against the seams of the softball as you pitch. This is just the side effect of spinning the ball hard off of your fingers. This is a good thing, and you may develop a callous eventually and it won't burn as much after you pitch. You might want to apply ice for a few minutes after pitching to numb the area.

Been throwinmg a lot of cut riseballs lately???

It's common for this to happen when just learning it or having to throw alot of them in a game or weekend.

If you would have said just the index finger, I would have said the bent fingered rise, common there too.

You may need a slight re-positioning of the fingers vs the seams.
