You set it at about 20 feet. Too far and the ball doesn't get there and too close and it is too challenging. You will find the right distance pretty easily.

yes, easily indoors. Golf whiffle balls - you will not break anything. Just be careful about the balls flying off the bat for people around it. Otherwise, pretty safe indoor for things.

We bought a personal pitcher last week, and my DD likes it. So far we have only used it indoors and it is very consistent on pitch locations...She is not afraid to get hit and takes alot of cuts. Its very convenient as we can use it any time we have 15 minutes or are bored...

If you have the room have her move backwards and forwards, inside and outside to simulate the pitch coming to different locations in the strike zone. This way she won't just be swinging at the same spot over and over. Some call this the Barry Bonds drill.

Excellent indoor tool. Can throw curves/sliders pretty effectively. Use only their balls, much better quality. Battery and power operated which is nice. Uses standard tri-pod mounts which makes aiming easy. Lightweight and portable. Maybe not a great team item - but a good challenge on rainy or cold days inside. Three adjustable speeds - and at 20' can be set at speeds beyond their capability.

The Gro-bat is very good as it has a regular bat grip, can be weight adjusted, and mimics a real bat more closely, with the challenge of a small diameter bat.
