Second time DD has gotten hit by a ball off the pitching machine. Her HS coach even remembered that she had been hit before.

How does that happen? The coach needs to start drinking some aiming fluid. It helps on the golf course.

I thought pitching machines sent the ball relatively straight once the aiming was set? Were all the tighteners set so it wasn't moving after each launch/pitch?

The worst ones are the ones that hit perfectly square like that one. Im sure it smarted but kids heal up pretty quickly, physically at least. As long as it doesn’t stay in her head she will be in good shape in no time

Two ways this happens that I have seen is balls that are cut and also three wheel machines can throw HOLY CRAP DID YOU SEE THAT Knuckleballs, lol

Hope that thing turns yellow and green and goes away soon! That is one dandy of a bruise!

Yea - it still looks pretty nasty now that it's turning to brown. She is in ROTC and they had to do PT where she wears shorts and everyone in her class was amazed at it and said it was the worst bruise they'd ever seen.

She had a tournament this weekend and came home with more bruises - not that she knows where she got them :/ She's a tough one!

Used to love seeing pics of players on Anna's teams on FB all dressed up for the prom or a formal, you can always tell the softball players, wide shoulders and bruises, both stand out!
