The butt turns to the pitcher as the rear leg is anchored in. This feels like IR pressure as you can feel the inner thigh muscles resist getting eccentrically contracted. But, your rear leg IS being externally rotated. You are not trying to let it happen. In essence, the old cue of wringing the rag at both ends applies here. Your rear hip feels like it is being separated.

As it pertains to the launch of the swing - the handle should get turned/snapped/torqued while the hip is at it's most separated feeling. You can indeed hold this if you recognize an off speed.

Hope everyone is staying safe.

The pic is to show the muscles at the hip that will feel stretched. I'm not sure if that's what's happening but it sure feels like it. Keep the rear leg pressuring to turn inward and turn your butt to the pitcher and things get stretched. If the rear leg keeps constant pressure inward (towards the P / internal rotation / choose your flavor) and when the butt gets released the hip will feel like it's getting snapped back into place and the rear leg (with nothing holding it back) will snap forward. No effort. I am not claiming to know the exact the scientific terms. I only know that if you create and maintain certain positions and pressures you will feel like you are and stretch and firing.

I love this clip to show it. The rear leg snaps

That swing of Krestchman (sp) is exactly as Rich describes when he says it's like closing a door. Contact is made at the same place a door shuts and latches. And that means the swing is pivoting around the rear hip/leg.

There should be no effort at contact. The problem with Blast and other metrics is that everyone tries to beat the numbers by exerting effort at contact. If you get the stretches, resistances and postures correct a simple snap of the handle takes you contact without EFFORT.

One guys is big and strong and is all effort. The other guy is big and strong and knows how to leverage the stretches.

One pushes his rear leg the other lets his rear leg pull his barrel around

Do you like the description of screwing the foot/leg/hip into the ground? Joey Myers mentions this and I’ll try to find exactly what he says.

He calls it springy torque in the hip, which helps to create stability in the hip/leg. He also mentioned it is like screwing the foot into the ground.
