There should be no effort at contact. The problem with Blast and other metrics is that everyone tries to beat the numbers by exerting effort at contact. If you get the stretches, resistances and postures correct a simple snap of the handle takes you contact without EFFORT.

One guys is big and strong and is all effort. The other guy is big and strong and knows how to leverage the stretches.

One pushes his rear leg the other lets his rear leg pull his barrel around

Right, you don’t just try to get batspeed to go up, that can result in some very long and muscled up swings.

Do you like the description of screwing the foot/leg/hip into the ground? Joey Myers mentions this and I’ll try to find exactly what he says.

He calls it springy torque in the hip, which helps to create stability in the hip/leg. He also mentioned it is like screwing the foot into the ground.
Rear leg external rotation. Open chain. In closed chain the action turns the pelvis.

Notice the outward rotation of the rear knee before his back heel lifts.
