The Northern Illinois University Softball program will host its 2019 Fall Elite Camps on Sunday, September 8th and Sunday, October 6th. The elite camps are geared towards individuals in 8th grade and above (2024 graduates and older). The NIU Elite Camps will be held on the campus of Northern Illinois University at Mary M. Bell Field (270 Stadium Drive East, DeKalb, IL 60115).
About the Camp:
The 2019 Elite Camp is designed to provide the opportunity for campers to fine tune their fundamental skills and improve on advanced skills from both an offensive and defensive perspective. The morning session will consist of position-specific defensive instruction (infield/outfield, catching or pitching), on-field hitting, and a Q&A with current Huskie student-athletes. During the afternoon, campers will go through offensive drills and play in two scrimmage games. In an effort to provide the best instruction possible, this camp is limited to 48 total participants, with a maximum of 9 catchers, 12 pitchers and 27 position players. Campers are expected to be able to maintain a competitive level of play throughout both drills and games. Head coach Christina Sutcliffe, her staff, and current student-athletes will lead instruction throughout the entirety of camp.
