NISC Tournament

I admit to not knowing much about this, but after stumbling across it on twitter, I checked it to see if Iowa State was playing (they aren't). Looking at the teams in it, I'm assuming there is a long list of teams declining a spot? Is it a budget issue for most schools? Just ready for summer break? I could understand a perennial NCAA tournament program that had a bad season passing on it, but for schools trying to build something, I would think extra exposure is better than none.

Not sure what goes into accept or declining an invite. I am sure many of the teams had money allocated for post season travel, but did not qualify. It's an interesting mix of P5 and mid majors. Kind of like the NIT for basketball. Who wouldn't want to be playing in Colorado in the middle of May? I would bet that all those kids thought they were done playing in Co after their last summer TB season.
