Has anyone taken the "Fundamentals of Coaching" course by the NFHS? What are your opinions? I already know that it's much better than that shallow ACE certification.
NC has just mandated taking the course for all new-hire coaches and assistants. From what they said NC was only one of five states that didn't require it unit this year.
They also offer a first aid course and a softball-specific course for coaches. Mike Candrea is the instructor I believe. After passing all 3 courses you can become nationally accredited.
