Dallas, Texas
  1. Florida
  2. Alabama
  3. Washington
  4. Stanford
  5. UCLA
  6. Arizona State
  7. Tennessee
  8. Michigan
  9. Georgia
  10. California
  11. Oklahoma
  12. Arizona
  13. Missouri
  14. Northwestern
  15. Louisville
  16. Lousiana-Lafayette
  17. Ohio State
  18. North Carolina
  19. Texas A&M
  20. Southern Illinois
  21. LSU
  22. Florida State
  23. UMass
  24. DePaul
  25. Fresno State

NOTES:

* Florida is over-rated. They have a great record (27-2), but they've only beaten one of the top teams (Arizona State). When conference play starts, they'll be terrorizing the weak SEC, while the West Coast teams will be at each others throats.
* UCLA is like a bad penny--they keep coming back. I hate to say it, but it looks like another title for UCLA.
* Northwestern plays Michigan this weekend--I'm betting on Michigan. Delaney for NW has been very inconsistent.

I completely disagree with your Notes section.

Florida is a great team. And a weak SEC? :p The #1 and #2 nationally ranked teams are from the SEC. Throw in the you-never-know Georgia and LSU, who both could upset any top team and add the Vols. Pretty decent conference IMO.

UCLA with another title? NO way. The only truly dominant PAC team is obviously UW. Will UCLA make it to SR's, probably, but no championship title for them this year. I'll guess we will get a better picture in the next 3 weeks as their schedule picks up.

As for the rest of the PAC, most are good but all have issues that could affect them on any given day- injuries, young pitchers, strength of schedule, etc.

I would have bet on Michigan too, but we both would have lost. :)

I just wish the Longhorns were dominant....

Michigan got spanked. (The Saturday game was televised on the Big 10 Network.)

UCLA plays Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, and Stanford. Oregon and Cal field are probably better than 90% of the teams east of the Mississippi. Clearly, that is the toughest conference in the country.

In the SEC, after Alabama, I don't see much. Tennessee is way over rated. Do you think Arizona (or Fresno State, for that matter) would get out scored 18-1 by Florida and drop three straight? Not likely...

"Oregon and Cal field are probably better than 90% of the teams east of the Mississippi."

Did you really just include Oregon? They are the Texas Tech or New Mexico of the Pac. No doubt the Pac is the toughest conference, I agree.

But when the SEC wins the CWS this year, you owe me a couple of rounds. Your only saving grace for the PAC will be UW. If that happens, I'll buy.

UCLA killed Arizona State over the weekend, winning 9-1 and 10-4. I'm not a UCLA fan, but the writing is on the wall. Florida beat Arkansas 11-0 and 6-0.

My prediction is that Florida will fold again like they did last year.

Well Sluggers, I have to eat my words and say you were right. I don't know about CWS champs, but UCLA sure has come back strong.

I didn't think Langenfeld could carry the tough load. She has proven that she sure can.

I'm not a UCLA fan--but, they really know softball out there. They never give up, and they believe that they will win every game. They also have a seemingly endless supply of talent.
