This is taking a pretty cool turn. What the article describes as the flex is yet another thing I thought was wrong with DDs motion and was "fixing"....Sluggers-can you move everything after your garcia clip to a new thread so we don't corrupt the model pitchers thread.

This is one of the greatest strikes I've ever seen!

While looking for an Ueno (pronounced oo-eh'-no) video, I found this game footage:

Amazing...

Perfect--Thanks!

CP,
FFS's gif was what I was looking for. Hoping to find a good thread to discuss the arm path seen above.

(I'll delete my gif request to help clean this thread.)

Ken, I know it's at least been mentioned because I almost let it derail me when I was having my DD practice the liberty with the ball clearly visible to the catcher and not allowing it to go behind her head. Maybe it was in one of the threads for Boomers DD... not sure.

I'm assuming Ken was interested in the lag which is peaking at approximately 9-O'Clock ... and the subsequent speed realized from the 9-O'Clock position onwards.

I'm assuming he's wondering why we focus on not letting the ball go behind the head during the arm circle when Ueno clearly is in this clip and she gets so much lag then whip while doing so but not sure.

Just an observation. Your DD appears to simply walk off of her rear leg, whereas Ueno uses her rear leg much more in getting the party started.

The front foot becomes lifted. The center of pressure is 100% on the rear foot as she aligns her body into an aggressive sprinter's orientation.

There is power in this.

I wonder how much of what she does is training and how much is amazing athleticism in finding so many ways to generate the speed she gets?
