Don't those sort of contradict themselves? One talks of a baseball pitcher getting hit with a batted ball (wood bat). Then you suggest that softball should look at their bats.

People are too quick to look for someone else to blame. It's an inherently dangerous sport. There are risks that come with playing. We could move the mound out farther, and switch to wood bats.. and then pitchers would still get hit. Who could we blame then?

Actually, AJ Burnett was batting when he was injured. the difference is a face guard on helmet rather than fielding mask.

The third article about HS players was good. men and boys associated with baseball are quick to critiicize softball players wearing masks. I'm tired of having to explain the reason for the fielding mask to goofy idiots that see it like dressing them in bubble wrap.
