I'm looking for second base drills and advice on how to get my daughter less afraid of the ball

- Hit her 100 balls a day. Start nice and easy. Slowly progress to more difficult grounders.

- There are a bunch of hand/glove work videos out there that can be worked on in meantime.

- Have her take a tennis ball to a wall and throw it over and over and over and over.

Can't be afraid of the ball in this game.

Gag's provided a good video of Kirk Walker's above. It's a basic 4-square drill for forehand shovels and backhand feeds, but the caveat is that there's not much footwork or follow-through momentum included with that particular example. So, it's a semi-static drill.

Those are fine when needed to teach new skills, but be careful that they're not full replacements for dynamic movement skills.

Any and all of the Ripken brother's videos on YouTube that you think would apply to your daughter's skill level.
