To riff off of the "too many teams" thread - here are the most recent posts from our local softball bulletin board in Georgia - this is from the 16U thread. And, yes - the ones that say "looking for one" or "looking for a couple" are in fact looking for a pitcher.

It seems we have a number of teams that are one pitcher away from a full complement.

It's the same way up here in Michigan right now. Tons of teams looking for another starting pitcher. That and catchers. Should be an interesting season coming up

This is why we refused to rush in picking a team. I told DD not to even stress about it because as soon as the org tryouts are over there will be 15 teams who all need 1-2.

From what I'm hearing from parents who's daughters play travel ball the number of teams have almost doubled from last year.

Also waiting for kids to leave their current teams when they see the new stud who the team brought in to take their place.
