Maybe we should go back to the original question of this post. “Is this even close to being done right for the lock it in drill?”

Would like to suggest beginning with Boardmember’s I/R in the Classroom sticky thread under softball pitching and build from there by studying how others practice reaching the same objectives.

Ok great old guy, let’s make a deal. I’ll never try to teach an 80+ year old man to pitch (something I’ve never done anyway), and you stop posting how awesome you are in this thread (something you seem to do a lot on this board).

You have better luck making the Globetrotter’s team than it is for Nunthia to stop bragging. He brags here, there and everywhere. He makes his bragging rounds.

I think the arm motion part of this has gotten pretty good. This is last week, 3 weeks in since we re-started. (1st "pitch" caught me off-guard how fast it came that it popped out of my glove.)

This week we started to focus on drive and getting into a good position, but that needs a lot of work. She just turned 10 two weeks ago, so maybe strength is an issue. Did a few full motion pitches at the end.

Booyah! You two should be so proud!!! Keep on keeping on, you're getting so much better (y).

Relaxation trick: inhale through nose when you start the backswing and exhale through mouth right before release.

NJSwampdragon: “Maybe it's just time to give up, as I don't get it.“

Boardmember: “Or, dig in hard and figure it out.”

Glad you took the latter road. Paid off in spades. She looks really good from her drill position. She’s getting much closer to playing catch underhand naturally and with some whip, and Is actually throwing the ball correctly much of the time. This alone will put her miles ahead toward the goal.

Nice job.

Cape Cod Mass.
If you stop both videos at about 7 o'clock it looks like in the full motion, even though her hand is under the ball a little, she is cocking her wrist back and then snapping it forward into release. One thing I like about Flickr is that I can click down on my touch pad with my left finger and then use my right finger to slide the cursor along the line and control the action. Try this and look at how she goes from 8 to 6 o'clock. It's different in both videos.
