When I was younger I attended the Team Ontario Selection Camp for the Canada Summer games, While I was there the one coach told me that when i was batting to line up my knuckles ( hard to describe but if you make an X with your finger then fold them like you were holding a bat) I didnt really pay to much attention to this back then but the last couple of games i havent benn hitting so well. im usually an off-field hitter and last night i went 4-4 and pulled everything. I found that my reaction time was quicker and holding the bat like that caused the head of the bat to come around quicker too. Im wondering if anyone else has heard or taught this?

A lot of people refer to this as "lining up the door knocking knuckles". This helps to prevent the batter from rolling their wrists at contact. I know that Dave Paetkau really emphasizes this, but he is from BC.
