Cleaning my gloves for the upcoming season, and decided to clean only half of my daughters All-Star catchers mitt (the entry level model - CMW-1010BT).

Cleaner, a little water and a toothbrush - not sure the bottle directions (to use a sponge or microfiber cloth) would really get the job done. I outlined the part I didn’t clean yet.

I also did my red, white and blue Liberty Advanced - should have done a before and after - waiting for the white leather to dry to see if it made a difference.

Will do that with my daughters A2000 Monica Abbott model (white palm as well).

Be sure to let them dry throughly and then condition them! This is a great time to seal the liners, if you don’t have any Obenauf’s, Vaseline will work just fine, thin coat though!

That’s the current plan - Obenaufs on the inside of all of them.

I have a plethora of conditioners to choose from (not sure who I could possibly blame for that “problem” ) - I may go 50/50 with some lexol and some surf city to compare. I may also use the Obenaufs on my Vinci catchers glove - I can use the tackiness as it’s taken a while to break in. I don’t know if the few balls popping out are user error or still just not fully broken in (caught about 30 innings with it).

My daughter also got the Nokona conditioner as a present at some point - but based on a previous thread - that will likely only be used on the back of a glove.

Time to scrub the (now gray) A2000:

Ball Players Balm Glove Cleaner, warm water and Boars Hair and Horse Hair brushes is the best thing for cleaning gloves. If you can't find the Ball Players Balm, Fieblings Saddle Soap (the white can) with the aforementioned brushes will do.

I'd also use the Fiebings Golden Mink Oil in the hand and finger wells after cleaning them and allowing them to dry.

Ball Players Balm Pro Glove Conditioner, Pecards Glove Conditioner or the Obenaufs Heavy Duty LP will all do a decent job conditioning the glove. Use a different horse hair brush and then your fingers to run the conditioner in.

Here's a couple I did this week

Can you post a picture of the brushes you use?

It will be a few years before I can try the ball players balm - need to use up existing stock first!

These are the brushes that I use. The horse hair is the darker one, the hair is not as stiff on it as the boars hair one.
These have worked much better than synthetic bristle brushes or tooth brushes, they don't scratch the leather or mess up the logos.
Generally start a glove with the horse hair, dip the brush in warm water, then In to the can of glove cleaner then start working the glove, a section at a time. Brush in circles until the soap starts foaming up on the glove. Once the foam turns dirty I wipe with a cloth and start over, some times you will need to clean the same area multiple times, for dirtier areas you may have to use the boars hair, it still won't scratch the leather up but can remove oil and tar from the glove with the BPB Glove Cleaner.

I also have boars and horse hair brushes in other shapes and sizes that are used dry to remove dust and grit from the gloves before the actual cleaning or to remove the leather flakes from the glove after relacing

Glad I asked for a pic - I was picturing a regular shoe shine brush.

You can use the small shoe shine applicator brushes you get from like Boot Barn. They're a little larger and you normally just find them in horse hair but it makes a good brush to clean the palms.
Theres a website called justman brushes or something that has just about every brush you can think of in every size and bristle.

What didn't you like about the Nokona conditioner?
DD uses it on her A2000 white and grey and it looks great. Glove is just at a year old and it is used 4 or 5 times a week. She cleans it every 4 or 5 week. Let the conditioner sit on the surface for 10 minutes as it lifts out the dirt. Then wipe off with a clean terry cloth. Heck the strings look new. I use the same stuff on my catchers mitt that is 10 years old and looks new.
I'm following this thread to learn something as you can never learn enough.

The Nokona conditioner isn't bad, I have some tubes of it and when I get the Nokona gloves in I use it on them. Its not so much the product that I ever had issue with, more the process. It may be something that Nokona designed for end users and for their gloves, they certainly do things their own way.

My process for cleaning a glove is to blow all the grit out with the jet nozzle on the air compressor and then if its in for a full service I cut the laces out of it, tear it down and clean it up with the glove cleaner, then once it dries I condition the leather and relace the glove. If its just in for cleaning, I untie the knots and clean it up still assembled.

Most people just want to clean their glove up a bit once a month and then toss it back in the bag, I am doing 20 gloves a week so the process is different.
