Not familiar with Monsta bats. Are they a small manufacturer or a subsidiary of one of the Big Boys?

They are huge in the slowpitch ASA world...pretty big company now. Started very small a few years ago.
Havent done much in fp as of yet. They cant get usssa stickers on anything they make right now, so audience
is limited. Also, owner is a complete tool, so that turns people off as well...haha. Their ASA slowpitch bats
are as good as anything made in the business...some say better.

One would think that with Utrip adopting the USA rules that it would be easier for them to get the stamp.

TMIB - if you're able to read this before your phone dies... :)

What's the difference b/w C and E? The wording from "after completing their turn at bat...." is identical. C uses the term "Altered or Non-approved", and E uses the term "illegal". Does USA define those terms elsewhere? To me, altered or non-approved would = illegal, but why change the terminology used mid-section? Is C only for tournament play?

If the girl would have made the 3rd out via strike out (or whatever), would the coach still have protested the illegal bat?….

Of course not...hahaha. A ton of coaches that see a bad bat are gonna wait until they can use the protest in their
favor...usually a key hit, or any hit if its late in the game. I know there are coaches that would have an eye on the bat and
hope the girl uses it in a key spot.

But, still cant give them the ability to use that on you. May be considered bush by some, but if someone is
trying to break the rules by using it, then its pretty hard to call someone bush for calling you on it.

DD's HS team sponsored a tournament and volunteer parents were sitting around a table with the long-time coach. The conversation came up about parents blurting out potential illegalities from the opposing team so the umpire could hear (e.g. bats, jewelry, substitutions, etc.). The coach playfully told us parents to please shut up (don't blurt out to the umpire) about illegalities. The coach and staff know when illegalities happen and put them in their back pocket to use when it counts....like after a go-ahead double is hit. Another opposing coach in the conference is notorious for using rule book technicalities to his advantage. Granted, this is varsity not younger youth athletics, but it's common.

Nope ... darn thing didn’t charge in the car and died while I was eating lunch. 😁

So ...

Altered = tampered with

Illegal = doesn’t meet standards (e.g., damaged)

Non-approved = doesn’t have the proper ASA/USA stamp or appears on the non-approved bat list despite having the stamp

It's an ejection for player and HC, yes?

USA = No, player only

NFHS = only if altered or non-approved; if just illegal (meaning damaged), batter is out and any runners who advanced are returned to the base occupied at time of pitch

USSSA = only if altered or non-approved; if just illegal (meaning damaged), batter is out and any runners who advanced are returned to the base occupied at time of pitch, bat is confiscated and a team warning is issued (second offense = player restricted to bench and HC ejected)
