Bunt back to the pitcher, pitcher fields the ball cleanly throws to the second baseman covering first. Ball beats base runner but second baseman is not standing on first base. Is this a hit or error on second baseman? Runner would be out if second baseman had foot on bag. This was not a bang bang play. Ps. I am not either one of these players parents.

If the ball clearly beat the runner then I would mark an error on the second baseman since it's a physical error not having your foot on the bag

This happened in an MLB game recently that I attended. On a grounder to right side that was fielded by 1B who did a good underhand toss, the pitcher failed to touch the bag where clearly the runner would have been out.

Ruled an error on the pitcher. I would use that as your guide.

Error.

The only slight hesitation I'd have is it E1 or E4. But watching it play out I'd be able to decide.

If it was a clean throw and the out would have occurred if the fielder touched the base, it’s an E4
