That's a great angle. I'm not so sure Kinsler isn't the same as bonds though. Need more swings. Depending on how they have it timed its tough to tell.

Not many hitters can do bonds on that offspeed though. It is very telling of what he was doing fundamentally.

Aaron judge is an excellent hitter. To expect him to do at 28 what bonds did at 37(PED) with 15 years as a pro is not fair.

Edit: Im not sure judge is trying to do the same thing as bonds and we will see how it works out.

In the first clip the movements seem to be foot first, coming onto the toes.

The second clip the hitter launched with the foot in the air. Nothing wrong with that.

Yea, there's nothing wrong with AJ's pattern which utilizes the rear leg/hip and barrel turn to dictate go time... NOT what Bonds is doing.. AJ's pattern will not allow him to move and sit into a leveraged position like Bonds (movement pattern). Bonds pattern the hands are pulled "down to" utilizing a contracting core against extending hips and not with the rotating hips..

Well they do it differently. Judge lifts the front leg or the frontside. He still initiates the swing at some point, he just has some lifting action.

Yes they do because they move differently (movement pattern). AJ's movement is rear leg driven, some would even say his swing is the shift into the front side..

Bonds is shifting for leverage into both legs before swinging down to against both hips extending.

You sure their different?

Yes, Bonds is swinging down to against his hips extending, just more visible with the off-speed... He has been preaching his down to for years, just not from a leveraged position. His barrel floats (un-tips) behind him against his fall into his legs fyb.
