Would it protect tourney companies from liability?
They have no liability for you getting Covid if you come to a tournament. All of this talk about legal liability of tournament associations or park districts is ridiculous. Is the grocery store responsible for someone getting Covid there? How about the liquor store?

I'm guessing there are some attorneys that disagree with you. Would a lawsuit for perceived insufficient covid-19 protocals be successful, who knows? Trusting people to self-assess and self-identify as being covid-19 symptomatic and therefore stay away from a youth sports event seems rife for a lawsuit.

Why would it matter to self assess if a person could have it with no symptoms?
Obviously weed out those with symptoms.....
but asymptomatic can attend.

Be clean, stay overthere.

If there are serious stipulations involved that change how the game is played, coached or otherwise, then it may not be time to start it back up.

On the other hand, if people feel it is safe enough to even think about playing with these modified rules and “precautions,” then just play ball because maintaining a 6 foot separation isn’t going to happen.

If there is no liability, why are the Feds and certain states trying to pass legislation or directives that absolve employers if they bring their workforce back and an outbreak occurs?

(Hint: there is potential liability.)

Didn‘t Starbucks actually close all their locations a while back? They just re-opened just a few in the last couple of days.

But yes, in theory. We will see what happens when the cases start being filed and the rulings start coming in.

There are already commercials running in Chicago area from some of the more esteemed lawyers/law firms regarding "did you get sick from Covid, call us today!"
