Finalist for National Player of the Year - but I guess no one told her to tighten the straps at all.

(not speaking specifically to that one catcher that does look like it could be adjusted an inch or so)
Rather in general about equiptment.
Chest protectors can have an issue with tightening the straps.

Adjust them so they fit snug standing...but many....
When get into a crouch push upward at the u-collar at the neck
Jams into the throat area.

Can be very annoying.
Even so that it makes the chest protector be in the way to move.

Pending body size/shape,
Loose (or lower) can be the best fit/option.

I MUCH prefer a snug and soft chest protector.
Also a shorter protector.

*Soft to obsorb the ball.
Not deflect it!!!

My daughter prefers them undersized, still something there, but wants arm movement unaffected. She also doesn’t like the neck protector on some, like you said, jabs the neck.

let’s see, jab the neck, or take a foul ball to the neck or throat. Thats a no brained to me.

While that can happen to get hit in the throat....do you notice the dangling throat guard protection is not mandatory?!!

Yet it is an option for those concerned.

I wore the throat guard ...
think my travel coach gave it to me.
24 years of playing.
Thankfully never was hit in the throat. Or throat guard.

The chest protection jabbing the throat can cause gag reflex, like being karate chopped in the throat.
also can limit head/neck Mobility, including looking down by jabbing into the chin.
Which can cause the inability to lower our chin to see the ball.
( aka head down on plays)

Let me add this Factor as some may be unaware of or overlooking it.

*Chest protectors don't always fit over and around breasts very well.

*Sometimes the best fit of catchers gear is by utilizing different brands and manufacturers to fit the helmet and chest protector and the legs to your body. instead of just buy it as a package where one piece fits and something else doesn't.

Again soft chest protector seems to be better form fit then the rigid stiff types.
