Awesome - way to work you two. In this Youtube please notice how the fingers are turned to the 3rd base line before it gets to his head and remains pointed to 3rd base line until it is released. Best view is when he does full delivery at the 5:50 mark.

When he discusses pushing the ball, the fingers are pointed to the ground and the shoulders move forward.

Too much effort, motion and too much distance. Find the distance, amount of motion and effort that it takes to get good reps. Only move back and increase effort as good whip and posture are maintained. Learn to throw before learning to pitch. Here's a progression that you can follow, roughly based on BoardMember's IR progression:

We tried to practice some IR today. She has a bit of a natural IR motion towards the end of her motion, but not during her arm circle. She wasn't too thrilled, as she didn't understand what we were doing. Let me know the good and the bad. Thanks.

Your dd is palm down from 9 to release. Classic HE movement. You need to get her palm up. Try backchaining. Use this as a guide.

What’s the issue and fix for a pitcher hitting herself in the leg. My 9 year old does it every time we pitch, but today it was really bad.
Might be with her not getting open enough, whatever the issue is def try to get it fix sooner than later. My daughter(2022) did it like once every 20 to 30 pitches. So not every time and she fractured her forearm on the ulnar side. (She pitched 5 games with the fracture before we knew it was that)She is in her 5th week of recovery and it happened right at the beginning high school season. Don’t wait to fix her mechanics. Hope everything works out.

For what it's worth, our pitching instructor would ask her to have her arm "travel more" after release. Extend it out to the catcher.

It appears she may be forcing her hand to finish like IR. If IR is done correctly the hand will naturally go there. You can feel it without using a ball.
