Pretty simple. My dd does this every once in awhile.
2 things. Her arm gets straight on brush contact and she internally rotates early. Bammmm! Hits her leg with the ball. Goes down like a ton of bricks. She fixes it quick.

Get her arm bent and keep the ball at 3rd right before release. Then Ir on release.

IMO, on her back swing the ball is all the way on the other side of her body therefore when at the top of her circle the ball is away from her body and is coming back towards her body on the downward motion. In the second video the back swing is on the other side of her body but the ball is over her shoulder. Maybe IRing late also but hard to tell. I would work on the back swing first.

Video from the side will confirm, but I think Dr. T nailed it. Straight arm and early pronation.

Find the distance and effort where she can review video of herself and confirm flexion/whip. Only move back and increase motion/effort as she can maintain whip.

Here are two slo-mo side videos a couple days before she was hitting her leg constantly. She usually hits herself once or twice a session, but the day from the original video it was like 8 or 10 times (several were attempts at flip changes).

Well if it was flip change she may have been pronating too late causing her had to be outside the ball vs in front of the ball at release. I will say however with her stiff straight arm she will have an issue with whip, hitting herself and speed. She is basically HE through the release zone. And unless she stays wide open at release (or monkey butts, stocks her butt out ) she will hit herself because there just isn’t room for the arm. So as she improves her posture and not the arm she may hit herself more.

What I am seeing is her backswing is not consistent so her forward drive at 3 not consistent “straight to target” which leads to bad arm circle crashing into hip or missing BI . I also agree her arm is to straight. At 9 elbow needs to bend Slightly as it begins to IR. I would ditch the backswing just keep the ball in the glove keep it low close to leg on the drive forward so that ball and glove are both forward at 3. Also watch the forward bend at her hips don’t let her start leaning forward.

And here is her not hitting her self. The only big difference I see is where she is stepping on the power line.

It seems to me, her back leg is bent too much, and when it bends too much, it can interfere with her release. If she stays more upright, it will raise here release point, which here is just above her knee.

Actually, looking at the first video again, she stepped well over the power line, and is trying to compensate and throw it towards the plate. Her arm is completely hidden in image below, where the forearm is clearly visible in image above.

I agree with Tony. Arm is too straight. Her posture is not helping but as her inner bicep comes into her body the elbow should be more bent keeping the hand away from the body. If she IR's too quickly then her hand leads instead of the elbow.

If you have the ball turned to the 3rd base line by the time it gets to up to nose level, the issue of the straight arm should go away.
