Saw this quote from philosopher Bertrand Russell the other day and thought it was worth posting, especially here in the hitting forum where things can sometimes get heated:

"In all affairs it's a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted."

Many of us are passionate about the game, and especially certain aspects of it. That's a good thing for the most part, but in our pursuit of knowledge we can sometimes take that passion to the extreme. At that point the mind closes, and we are stuck where we are.

Hanging a question mark on what we "know" now and then is a good thing. Sometimes it will lead us right back to where we were, but the exercise was worthwhile. Other times it just may lead us to a better place.
