When Shay Knighten hit that game tying home run, the first thing that came to mind is what would Hillhouse think about that pitch call. LOL.
One thing you noticed all tournament long was that no one threw a "real" riseball with true back spin, they were all titled up bullet spin fastballs. Effective, as they are thrown at high-60's / low 70's and located well but in no way were optimum spin rotation.
Re: Hillhouse, he would probably say you don't throw riseballs in the later innings in a 1 run game. UCLA got away with it though...
