Both of my DDs went to group hitting clinics in the winter. The coaches were very good and I learned a lot from them by watching. I could then use those same drills and techniques at home or in the cage. I also treated "clinics" my kids went to as coaching clinics for me. Of course you need to find "good" clinics with reputable coaches. As a coach I like to have 1-2 kids to work with at a time but at younger ages I think 3-4 at a time can be effective for hitting. For pitching with the young ones we like to have mom or dad catching so they can also help them at home. Not everyone can afford individual lessons and getting your DD in the cage or on the rubber can be positive if you make it that way. If you run into a bad coach don't go back.
