GoPro hero 8 and power bank

Does anyone have any recommendations on what type of external battery is best?

We specifically recommend the Anker PowerCore Slim 10000 PD for the HERO9 and 10 cameras. But it will work well for any device that requires USB power.

Thanks for the reply. It's weird because the 8 seems to pull from the internal battery if i plug it in before starting the recording. But if i start the recording and then plug it in, it pulls from the external battery. I know that sounds backwards, but it is how it's working. I'll let you know if I figure anything else out.

I have a hero 8 that I use with an external battery. Only problem I've had using with the internal battery in is heat. Without it as Josh says the clock issue is annoying. Turning wifi off seems to help. I've taken to putting a shade and fan on it in the heat but I've settled myself at this point to leave the internal battery in unless it's really hot out.
